Vinton – a small town with big city advantages – beckons to folks who enjoy festivals; southern hospitality; good food; unique special events; and convenient, full-service shopping.

Experience the Vinton Dogwood Festival, a family favorite for over 50 years, which takes place the last Saturday in April each year. Everyone is invited to a July 4th celebration, complete with fireworks and fabulous music. Enjoy the sights and sounds of the Vinton Fall Festival in early October. The holiday season kicks off with a traditional Christmas Parade and ends with Enchanted Eve, a wonderful event for all ages on New Year’s Eve

The Vinton Farmers’ market offers produce, plants, crafts, baked goods, and so much more! The market is also the site of a frequent Art Market featuring area artists; a Vintage Market with antiques and collectibles; and an evening Retro Market with vendors selling items from the 1950s through the 1980s. The Vinton-Roanoke County Veterans Monument, a beautiful structure gracing the grounds of the Vinton War Memorial, will be dedicated in the spring of 2010.

How We're Doing Our Part

The Vinton area is actually bisected by the Blue Ridge Parkway. The residents and businesses of Vinton are extremely proud to have such a beautiful national resource as part of their community. Several rangers and parkway employees actually call Vinton home. Most recently the Vinton War Memorial, an elegant event venue, was host to one of the kick-off events of the Blue Ridge Parkway 75th Anniversary. Vinton is pleased to support the anniversary efforts, embraces the Blue Ridge Parkway’s values and heritage, and looks forward to an exciting future.
