Polk County is a community rich in history and love for equestrian events. Musicians, craft people, and farmers have all played in the history and beauty of Polk County. Their past weaves a beautiful thread through the present-day tapestry of Polk County. Grape vineyards that once lined the hillsides are today making their debut. Rich wine can be found at the wineries in the county. The many bed and breakfast charms invite the weary traveler to spend some pleasant hours enjoying the beauty of the first peaks of the Blue Ridge.
Polk County offers a relaxing point just a few miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway. Harmon Field offers a myriad of activities for the entire family with a kiddie playground, little league baseball and soccer fields, tennis courts, and nearly two miles of paved walking trails. FENCE offers comfortable walking trails through the woods, as well as some fine equestrian trails. The towns of Columbus, Saluda, and Tryon offer the shopper a variety of places to shop and also to dine.
