Located in Rockingham County, Harrisonburg is a gateway to the Blue Ridge Parkway and its northern neighbor – Shenandoah National Park and Skyline Drive. The Hardesty-Higgins House Visitor Center in downtown Harrisonburg directs thousands of visitors to both of these popular National Park Service attractions, promotes Parkway events, and hosts Parkway travelers.

How We're Doing Our Part

The Hardesty-Higgins House is a state-certified regional visitor center. Our staff receives training on directing visitors to regional attractions, events, and celebrations. The staff is raising awareness about the Parkway and will continue to offer visitors the opportunity to experience this exceptional natural and cultural resource. Several local groups, artisans, and musicians contribute to the stewardship of this important resource and are actively involved in Parkway programs.
