35 participating venues throughout downtown Boone, NC
This event is a celebration of arts and culture in this Appalachian Gateway Community along the Blue Ridge Parkway. As the Watauga County seat, Boone has long been recognized for its natural beauty and cultural importance to the Blue Ridge Parkway and the Appalachian Mountains within North Carolina. Historically a home to pioneers, explorers, hunters and farmers, it has become an active art, education, music and outdoor enthusiast community with its own unique Southern Appalachian heritage and culture.
The Art Crawl features local and regional artists of all genres ranging from traditional crafts, pottery, paintings, metalwork, jewelry and glasswork to music and live entertainment. Several of the participating artists will be on hand to discuss and demonstrate their skills.
Galleries and shops are open until 8 p.m. Restaurants and bars are open until 10 p.m. or 2 a.m. Two underground galleries are open from 7 p.m. to midnight—only on Art Crawl nights. The Watauga County Arts Council and Appalachian State University’s Turchin Center for the Visual Arts each host artist exhibits during the crawl.
