Experience award-winning bluegrass, folk, and old-time mountain music performances in the historic old school auditorium at the Stecoah Valley Cultural Arts Center. The concert series features live entertainment for the entire family every Saturday night from June 26 through August 28. The event includes an authentic Appalachian dinner, cooked up in the Stecoah kitchen and served family-style in two seatings, before each concert. The dinners feature sustainable, locally grown products including mountain trout, fresh garden vegetables, and wild berry cobblers. A favorite with locals and visitors alike, the event recreates the tastes and sounds of community gatherings of days gone by.

In the 1940s and 1950s, Mid Day Merry Go Round was a popular KNOX Knoxville radio program and musicians heard on the radio used the Blue Ridge Parkway to tour the mountain area where the Stecoah school auditorium became home to these beloved musicians. In those early years, the Stecoah stage was graced with the top bluegrass performers, including Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs, Bill Monroe, the Carter Family, Chet Atkins, Bonnie Lou and Buster, Archie Campbell, Carl Story, Elmer Jethro, Martha Carson, and the Brewster Brothers. These musicians charged little or nothing for admission and put on shows to a full house. Today’s performers follow in the footsteps of these great musicians. Recent performers have included the Kruger Brothers, Jody Brown Indian Family, the Biscuit Burners, Wayne Henderson and Helen White, Josh Goforth Band, Polecat Creek, and many others.
