Ravensford Overlook
Milepost 467, Blue Ridge Parkway *** see note about parking in description ***

A ceremonial torch passing from the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, which is celebrating its 75th anniversary in 2009, to the Blue Ridge Parkway at the Ravensford Overlook at Milepost 467 at the southern end of the Parkway. The event will also highlight the passage of intergenerational stewardship as well as a performance of the Warriors of AniKituhwa dancers and remarks from both park superintendents and a representative of the Eastern Band of the Cherokees Indians Tribal Council.

Please note: There is no parking on site. Please park at the Cherokee Transit Lot on Highway 441, near the entrance to the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Shuttles will be provided. In case of inclement weather, event will be relocated to The Gathering Place at Cherokee Central Schools.
