On May 8 and 9, the Southern Highland Craft Guild will celebrate textile arts through their annual fiber weekend. On Saturday, Guild members will share their expertise in a variety of fiber arts including quilting, spinning, weaving, and surface design. There will also be hands-on activities for children.
The festivities continue Sunday for the 12th annual Fashion Show of Wearable Art. There will be two separate showings at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
Blue Ridge Parkway organizations have been invited to set up a table at the event to educate the public about anniversary events, stewardship of the Parkway, and the history of the Blue Ridge Parkway.
