Main Street will be filled with traditional crafts and foods as we celebrate the heritage of the Blue Ridge and our town’s relationship with the Parkway. A parade of antique cars will kick off music, exhibits of traditional crafting and end with a street dance. Stores will have on display artifacts with vignettes representing milestones on the Parkway. Storytelling and lectures will take place recounting the many and varied stories of the Parkway’s development around Blowing Rock. On Saturday, September 18, Appreciation Ceremonies will be help at Memorial Park and include local, state, and federal dignitaries leading up to the grand parade. At the end of the day, an old-timey community picnic will be held at Davant Field where vintage cars will be on display.
