Come to Historic Downtown Galax to enjoy the best barbecue in the birthplace of mountain music.
The Virginia State BBQ Championship attracts visitors from several states, many who are first-time visitors to this region. Our winners showcase trophies of real playing fiddles. Band Champions win a hand-made banjo. We offer tour buses for the visitors to the Blue Ridge Music Center during the event. The BBQ Championship saw visitors from 19 states in 2009.
