Downtown Vinton (portions of Lee Avenue, South Maple Street, and South Pollard Street)
An annual festival that begins with a 5K race followed by a pancake breakfast at the VFW. Portions of the streets are closed to traffic and filled with vendor booths and activities. Musical entertainment and a “Doggy Pageant” will be offered at two stages – across from the farmers’ market and at the corner of South Maple and East Lee Avenue.
A children’s activities area is located in the Vinton Baptist Church parking lot, with the Vinton police hosting fun and educational activities for all ages.
The farmers’ market activities include local crafts and vegetables judged by a master gardeners’ group. The carriage/hay rides are fun for all ages.
About 10 food vendors and over 90 craft vendors sell a variety of goodies, and the downtown shops are open all day.
