Banks of the South River
Constitution Park
Waynesboro, VA

This truly one-of-a-kind event draws novice and experienced fly anglers alike from across the mid-Atlantic. Attendees can expect to hear a variety of lectures on everything from fly fishing for native brook trout to angling for stripers on the Chesapeake Bay from a kayak. There is a strong emphasis on conservation education, with participation from a large variety of conservation-minded groups.

The event combines teaching fly fishing with free wine tastings from eight of Virginia’s best wineries.

Half of all monies received from sponsors, vendors, ticket sales, and raffles are used to cover the cost of next year’s festival, with the remainder earmarked for conservation work on the South River to return it to a pristine cold water fishery and create the first trophy brook trout stream in Virginia.
