Waynesville, NC

There are four Friday night Mountain Street Dances held annually each summer. Both local residents and tourists enjoy these FREE old-fashioned mountain hoedowns which began in the 1950s with live mountain music and dance demonstrations by local clogging teams. This year we are celebrating the Blue Ridge Parkway’s 75th Anniversary.

Dances are held in front of the Haywood County Courthouse and begin at 6:30 p.m. and last until 9:00 p.m. Bring a lawn chair or blanket; limited bleacher seating is available. Professional mountain musicians perform along with a clogging team. Street Dance caller encourages everyone to join in a square dance. Refreshments available by local non-profit groups
