LOVE Mountain festival is both a Blue Grass Music Festival & Education presentations on “Life On the Blue Ridge.” Between band sets, presentations will be given by local speakers on history, art, music, and wildlife. This program will take place ina a natural outdoor amphitheater with lots of shade trees and will seat about 800 guests; 300 in chairs and 500 on the banks of the theater. Bring blankets or folding chairs and enjoy the program. All bluegrass bands are local, some of which live in the small mountaintop hamlet of LOVE, VA. Lynn Coffey (former editor of “Backroads”) will speak on the history of LOVE including the CCC camps, and WWII Prisoner Of War camp in Sherando. The Virginia Wildlife Center will present a live animal wildlife program. Cutch Tuttle, promoter and musician for “Houndog Hill” bluegrass band, will speak on the history of mounta8n music. Jane Pendegraft and/or Charlotte Hodge will discuss natural art on the Blue Ridge. Lodging (please reserve in advance), food and parking are available.
