Craft and culture are an integral part of the Blue Ridge Parkway experience. On June 25 and 26, 2010, HandMade In America will stage an event at the NC Arboretum - just minutes from the Parkway - that showcases the best of Western North carolina Craft.  An innovative way to connect these communities, the two-day event will offer examples of successful collaborations between craft artists, individuals and industry professionals. Model home rooms utilizing handcrafted furniture, entry doors, stained glass windows, hand-forged lighting, gates, and landscape elements will be just a few things that will be featured.  The event includes education sessions, craft demonstrations inside and on teh arboretum grounds, craft sales and commission opportunities for artists, and a retail craft shop. Tours of the homes and offices that exemplify the use of craft in the built environment will be available during the two days of the event.
