Fort Dobbs - NC State Historic Site, 438 Fort Dobbs Road, Statesville NC
While many people living in the vicinity of
Fort Dobbs were farmers, others earned their living by performing a trade.
Meet tradesmen typical of those in the 18th Century North Carolina
backcountry, woodworkers, metalworkers and artists and learn of their
contributions to the lives of their neighbors. Visitors will have the
opportunity to purchase their own “piece” of the 18th Century from the
artisans and craftsmen plying their wares. 2nd Saturdays will bring together North Carolina arts, history, and culture
at all 37 of the Department of Cultural Resources’ museums and Historic
Sites on June 12, July 10 and August 14, 2010. For more information, visit
http://www.ncculture.com.
