Celebrate the Parkway’s 75th Anniversary and discover its beauty by bicycle. The Blue Ridge Parkway is often called America’s Favorite Drive. It could just as well be nicknamed America’s Favorite Bike Tour. In all, the parkway runs for 469 miles, connecting Shenandoah National Park in Virginia with North Carolina’s Great Smoky Mountains National Park. You’ll explore almost 300 of the very best of these miles.

It’s with good reason that the Blue Ridge Parkway is among the most popular units of the National Park System. The Parkway twists and turns through a rural landscape of dark forests, sun-dappled fields, and mountain meadows surrounded by rustic split-rail fences. We’ll spin past historic farmsteads and lodges and through the many valleys known locally as “hollers,” all the while taking note of the road’s fascinating engineering.

This June, immerse yourself in Appalachia’s singular mix of flora and fauna and its unique and venerable mountain culture.
