Celebrate mountain heritage and traditions at the 14th Annual Harvest Festival with something for all ages, including mountain music, dance, campfires, storytelling, quilts, tractors, and authentic Appalachian food and crafts.

The festival kicks off with food and entertainment at noon on Friday, then an old-fashioned evening of singing, storytelling, and roasting hot dogs and marshmallows over the campfire Friday evening.

The festival moves into full swing at 11 a.m. Saturday, with a day of rousing mountain music and dance; an outdoor marketplace; and a Country Fair competition, which includes exhibits of jams, jellies, pies, cakes, quilts, needlework, and much more. The outside marketplace will feature local artisans offering arts and crafts including jewelry, woodcrafts, paintings, and handcrafted cheese. A quilt display and weaving demonstrations will round out the traditional crafts. There also will be a Civil War Encampment area as well as the antique tractor show on the grounds. From corn grinding to music to clogging, there’s something for everyone, including games for the children. Attendees can eat at one of the festival’s many food tents, which offer barbeque, apple dumplings, funnel cakes, fry bread, and much more. The Stecoah Kitchen will serve chicken and pork barbeque dinners.

On Sunday, a gospel singing will be held in the center’s historic auditorium.

The fun continues on Monday, with a Fall Color and Birding Presentation at Fontana Village Resort.
